Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Firebird Games ApS ("we", "us"), based in Denmark, handles your information when you visit Playbii and play our games. We are the data controller for that information. You can reach us any time at contact@firebirdgames.com.
Our guiding principle is to collect as little as possible. You can play every game without an account. An account is optional, and you only provide personal details if you choose to create one (for example, to save progress across devices or appear on leaderboards).
Information we collect
When you just play (no account)
- Game progress on your device. Some games save your progress locally in your browser's storage. That data stays on your device and is not sent to us.
- In-game analytics. Our games use GameAnalytics to understand gameplay (for example sessions, progression and errors). This can include a generated identifier, device and session information, and your IP address used only momentarily to derive your country and then discarded by the provider.
- Basic technical and log data. Like any website, our hosting provider records limited information such as approximate region, device and browser type, and pages visited, to keep the site secure and running.
When you create an account
- Email address, used to sign you in by magic link and, only if you opt in, to send you updates.
- Username and avatar you choose (the avatar is picked from a fixed set; you cannot upload an image).
- Date of birth, used to confirm you meet our minimum age. We do not use it for anything else.
- Game save data tied to your account, so your progress follows you across devices.
- Your email-preferences history, a record of when you opted in or out of updates, so we can demonstrate your choices.
Why we use your information, and our legal basis
- To provide your account, saves and leaderboards (email sign-in, username, avatar, save data). Legal basis: performance of the service you asked us for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To confirm you are old enough to hold an account (date of birth). Legal basis: compliance with our legal obligations and our legitimate interest in not creating accounts for under-age users (Art. 6(1)(c) and 6(1)(f)).
- To send you optional updates about new games. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
- For in-game analytics and any future advertising. Legal basis: your consent for non-essential storage (Art. 6(1)(a) with the ePrivacy rules), with strictly necessary technical logging resting on our legitimate interest in security and reliability (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Cookies and local storage
To keep you signed in, we store a session token in your browser's local storage once you choose to sign in. That storage is strictly necessary for the account feature you requested, so it is set only after you act. We do not use it to track you. Analytics and any advertising rely on non-essential storage and are covered in our Cookie Policy.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site:
- Supabase stores account data (profile, saves, email-preference records) and runs our sign-in. Your account data is hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt). Supabase acts as our processor under a data processing agreement.
- Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site, acting as our processor.
- GameAnalytics provides the in-game analytics described above, acting as our processor.
- Google, if and when we show advertising, acts as an independent controller for that advertising. We will describe this further before any ads run.
International transfers
Account data is stored in the EU. Where any provider is based outside the EU or may process data outside it, we rely on appropriate safeguards: Standard Contractual Clauses with Supabase and GameAnalytics, and, for Google, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework with Standard Contractual Clauses as a fallback. You can request more detail about these safeguards using the contact email above.
How long we keep your information
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from your profile, which removes your profile, saves and related records. We keep your email-preferences history for as long as needed to evidence your consent choices. Analytics and log data are retained for limited periods by the relevant provider.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you, and receive a copy in a portable format;
- correct inaccurate data, or complete incomplete data;
- erase your data ("right to be forgotten");
- restrict or object to certain processing, including the right to object to direct marketing at any time;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out, for anything based on consent.
If you have an account, you can download your data and delete your account yourself from your profile, and you can change your email-update choice there at any time. For anything else, or if you do not have an account, contact us at contact@firebirdgames.com and we will respond within the time the law allows.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Denmark this is Datatilsynet(datatilsynet.dk).
Children
Our games are for a general audience and anyone can play them without an account. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, and we ask your date of birth at sign-up to confirm this. We do not knowingly collect personal data through accounts from anyone under 16. If you believe a younger child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and we will flag significant changes.
